The Lie, No. 1

Not many guesses to the first “Three Truths and Lie” entry, but here’s the answer for those of you who may indeed be curious.

  1. There is not one thoroughbred racetrack or registered polo club in all of Nevada.
  2. The Sands was the first resort hotel on the Strip.
  3. I am moving to Las Vegas next month.
  4. Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States.

Number 2 is the lie. The Sands was not the first resort hotel on the Strip, it was El Rancho.

El Rancho, the first resort hotel on the Las Vegas strip.

(And so, yes, I am moving to Las Vegas next month.)
